About the Event
Courageous leadership means confronting and defying the expected norms for age, ethnicity/race, and women. Sarah will be sharing key biblical principles, skills, and formative lessons in leadership that helped her embrace the invitation to lead and train people across those boundaries and expectations. As someone who has trained people from various denominations and who has served in national leadership in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Sarah has a wealth of experience that will both challenge and encourage those listening to explore what it means to lead courageously.
Sarah Shin is the author of Beyond Colorblind (Intervarsity Press, 2017). She formerly served as the Associate National Director of Evangelism for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and is a speaker that connects ethnicity and biblically informed faith. Sarah holds a Master of Letters in Analytic and Exegetical Theology from the University of St. Andrews, a Master of Arts in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Master in City Planning and Development from MIT. She is a PhD candidate in Theological Ethics at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She loves to create good food, art, and hosting with her husband and wee daughter.
